Emotional, Cognitive and Behavioral Reactions After Van Earthquake: Examination of Police Sample The emotional, cognitive and behavioral responses of the police personnel in Van after the earthquake and their daily life changes and awareness are evaluated in this study. In the research a questionnaire was applied to 203 Van City Police Department personnel. The results showed some differences of daily habits and expectations, nightmares, religious attributions, meaning of life and psychological problems in terms of damage level, earthquake risk knowledge and property loss. After examining the word “earthquake” according to the attribution groups, it was observed that the fatalistic attribution groups have higher response means than the scientific attribution groups
