Abstract
Osman Nûrî Pasha from Diyarbakir was a statesman and poet, who lived in nineteenth century. There had been big changes in the nineteenth century. These changes revealed themselves in almost every avenue. However, the novelties and attachment to the past caused this century to be painful. Empire's modeling Europe due to losing its power with the decline also affected this century's being a tough period. In his Divan, Osman Nûrî Pasha also handled the changes in the poetry as well as in the culture. Fez was one of those issues. The couplets related to the use of fez, which was the symbol of the changes in the clothing of a traditional society, would be the subject of this article
