Abstract
The article attempts to examine the categories of time, memory, and death in the performance “Jeweler's Jubilee” by Konstantin Bogomolov (the Moscow Art Theatre). These categories are cross-cutting in the work of the director. In selected for the analysis performance director chooses a play by English playwright Nicola McAuliffe and on its base creates his own artwork. The director aims to reverse the context of the show, timed to the anniversary of the actor playing the main role in it, to deprive him of a benefit veil. The anniversary as an occasion to talk about inexorability of time, vagaries of memory and inevitability of death becomes a key theme of the play
