Abstract
Abstract : A 21 years old female, primi with congenital heart disease short stature CPD in labour, was posted for Caesarean section. Caesarean section was done under General anaesthesia. Pre-medicated with Inj. Glycopyrrolate 0.2mg by intravenously, pre oxygenated with 100 Oxygen for 3 minutes, induced with Inj. Thiopental 175mg, 2.5 , paralysed with Inj. Suxamethonium 75mg intravenously, intubated with 7.5 sized cuffed endotracheal tube, maintained with nitrous oxide andoxygen. After the delivery of the baby, Inj. Fentanyl 50g was given intravenously. Non depolarizing muscle relaxant was not given. Patient had spontaneous respiration with adequate tidal volume with adequate recovery signs after three and half hours of assisted ventilation with 100 Oxygen. This delayed recovery may be due to Succinylcholine apnoea.
