Abstract
Eruptive xanthomas may be due to typeI ,IV and V familial hyperlipidemias or secondary to obesity, cholestasis, diabetes and drugs. They serve as cutaneous marker for underlying raised triglycerides level. Early diagnosis of eruptive xanthoma is very important. They are often life saving, as they prevent the patient from ending up in acute pancreatitis or cardiovascular complications.
