Abstract
Abstract : Blue on yellow perimetry is a modification of standard automated perimetry using the same perimeter and programs. It utilizes a 440 nm Goldmann type V stimulus at 200 milliseconds duration on a 100 candelasm2 yellow background to test selectively the short wavelength sensitive cones and their connection. The test is most likely processed by the small bistratified blue on yellow ganglion cells, which encompass approximately 5 of total population of retinal ganglion cells. Blue on yellow perimetry or Short Wavelength automated perimetry can detect early visual field loss before a reduction in differential light sensitivity is shown with standard White on White perimetry. The principle of Blue on Yellow perimetry is to measure the sensitivity of the blue sensitive cones in contrast with a yellow background. Blue on Yellow perimetry tends to test a subset of retinal ganglion cells that are lost in glaucoma. Keyword :blue on yellow perimetry, glaucoma suspects
