Abstract
The article elucidates one of the cases of influence of fiction on the reality. It comes to the identification of the Serbian national
consciousness of the hero of Leo Tolstoy's novel “Anna Karenina” Alexei Vronsky with a participant of Serbo-Turkish war of 1876, a volunteer colonel Nikolai Rajewski, at the place of whose death was built the church of the Holy Trinity in the village of Gornji Adrovats, which became known as “Rajewski's church” or “Count Vronsky's church.”
