Abstract
Approaches to the definition of „agglomeration”, „urban agglomeration” were investigated in this paper. Analyzed the economic development of the four largest metropolitan Donetsk region on selected indicators. The conclusions on the strengthening of agglomeration effect or its weakening in some areas.
