Abstract
Music is one of the most important elements that create the culture. Expressing emotions such as joy, enthusiasm and pain which are come at a result of social events and invidiual feelings, is realized by language and music. Therefore mother tongue and melody have an important role in extending emotional unity. That kind of integrating effect of music can't be ignored. It's stated by many scientist that people comments the same environmental conditions differently according to the culturel background. To this respect transferring people from a simple colony to a community which is established by invidiuals who comprehend the moral values of society is among our educational aims. İn this study, there are eleven questions which are asked for observing secondary school students musical culture, their point of view about turkish music and other cultures and their prefence rates and prefence reason of these elements. It's aimed that the results will provide data about cultural corruption, diffuculties in cultural transference and the solutions of the probable problems. As a result of study, it is confirmed that in order to realize cultural continuity, turkish music is not introduced and taught to new generations completely, therefore musical lesson syllabus and educational programs should be revised according to cultural tranference it also includes advises for this issue.
