Abstract
Nowadays, the problem of improving approaches to the quality management in education is a most challenging one. The article deals with the theory and practical issues of the organizational self-assessment as a means of quality management. For this purpose, scientific viewpoints on the content of this category, models, principles, methods of self-assessment have been analyzed. Peculiar features, possibilities and results of applying self-assessment to the educational process have been considered as an important means of permanent process aimed at improving organizational activity, the Economic faculty of N. P. Ogarev Mordovia State University being an example. The article describes the procedure of self-assessment at the economic faculty; it analyses the results achieved, the system of monitoring information about the satisfaction level of customers and other parties involved; it shows the mechanism of integrating self-assessment results into the process of planning. The research was done on the process and system approach; the following methods were applied: comparing analysis, self-assessment, questionnaires, web-diagram.
