The essence of the concepts "professional training" and "professional language training" is revealed. The components of the professionally communicative competence of foreign medical professionals is clarified. The essence and content of language training of foreign medical students in higher educational institutions of Ukraine is characterized. The peculiarities of the selection of educational material in the process of language training of foreigners in medical universities are highlighted. The necessity of training the genres of professional communication of future medical specialists in connection with the situations of the professional sphere is grounded. The importance of the thematic conversation genre in the process of teaching professional speech is underlined. Organizational forms of mastering the genres of professional speech are singled out.
