Abstract

Teaching is considered to be a noble profession and teachers are open windows for lower walls in students’ realm of education. Teachers are the source to teach the moral values and latent approaches to compete their roles in the competent globe. Even teachers are part of student life and part of our nation growth. Job satisfaction among teachers is an important phenomenon not only for themselves but also to the society as a whole. It exhibits high productivity and classroom effectiveness in the colleges. Teachers play a vital role in encouraging and promoting the students into their prospective fields by continuous career guidance. When teachers are satisfied in their profession they can perform their responsibilities with more attention and in turn to fulfill the expectations of both the management and students in improving the quality in education. In this regard, this study is undertaken to identify the factors which will influence the level of satisfaction of teachers of professional Colleges in Chittoor District. For this study, Primary data is collected through questionnaire from a sample of 100 teachers selected through mixed random sampling method from various professional colleges across the chittoor District. Collected data is analyzed through statistical techniques in the present study to interpret the results. This study shows Income is one of the important factors determining the level of job satisfaction.
