Abstract
Abstract. Characterization local clay ceramic in South Kalimantan have been conducted in body system consisting of clays Nagara-Quartz-Feldspar with optimization using ternary triangle. The resulting ceramic body characterized by X-Ray Diffraction, and physical properties testing. The results showed that of the 15 compositions obtained six compositions that appropiate the SNI. with optimum combustion temperature 1100oC. The optimum composition of ceramic body system Nagara clay 43.15%, 22.84% 34.01% quartz and feldspar with a total shrinkage of 8.71%, the modulus of 184.8 kg/cm2 broken modulus and water absorption 12.21%.
