Abstract
The article views a higher educational institution teacher's role when a didactic learning environment is being used. Functions performed by a didactic learning environment at a higher educational institution are mentioned. The paper substantiates a shift of traditional teacher's role to become facilitators and experts when evaluating learners' academic achievments. It is also mentioned that higher educational institutions educators should not only self-develop ICT-competence, but also promote learners' collaboration and self-development skills.
