EXPERIENCE OF CITY GOVERNMENT OF THE VOLOGDA REGION IN LATE XVIII - MID-XIX CENTURIES.

Experience of city government of the Vologda region in late XVIII - mid-XIX centuries the Article presents an attempt of generalization of the historical experience of urban public administration (government) in the 1785-1870 on the example of cities in the contemporary Vologda region (Belozersk, Vologda, Veliky Ustiug, Vytegra, Gryazovets, Totma, Ustyuzhna, Cherepovets). The article is based on archival documents and scientific literature. The structure of the municipal bodies, relations with the administration, the implementation of their powers in the economic, financial and social spheres.
