ON THE QUESTION OF THE BORDERS OF DISTRIBUTION AND LOCAL VARIANTS GORODETSKY CULTURE

The territory of spreading Gorodetsky antiquities was not constant, it changes at different stages of the existence of the culture. Until the middle of the I millennium BC the early d`akovsky monuments of the Volga-Oka rivers became a part of the culture. They should be referred to the Volga-Oka local version of the Gorodetsky culture. The oriental borders of the main territory of the Gorodetsky tribes are limited by the drainage-basin of the river Sura. It is necessary to abandon of the selection of the Srednevolzhsky local variant of the culture.
