THE DICHOTOMY OF SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF INTELLECTUALS: SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ANALYSIS

The article analyses the contemporary socio-cultural historical context, which involved all categories of the population, including the intelligentsia, as a special class, "stratum" of society, with intelligence and wielding it as a tool. Based on examples from literature, history and the modernity of the analysis and the assessment of the role of intellectuals in the cultural-historical process. The concept of dichotomy, as the duality of consciousness and behavior of modern intelligentsia, influenced by external factors. Particular emphasis on the significance of this social group and its special role in the formation of humanism, contributing to the further progress of mankind.
