The article deals with the place of pilgrimage tourism in the system of tourist activity. Pilgrimage tourism - a kind of religious tourism and is a collection of travel of representatives of different religions pilgrimage purposes. The pilgrimage is considered as a journey of people to worship the holy places. The article highlights the different types of pilgrimages. According to the number of participants and the basis of family affiliation distinguish the individual, family and group pilgrimages.
