Abstract
The article explores the functioning of the Russian insurance industry and the need to use electronic technologies in it. The functions carried out by the virtual office of the insurance company, as well as the bilateral advantages arising in connection with this, are singled out. The analysis of the structure of the insurance market for the "introduction" of information technology and the prospects for their development are determined.
