Abstract
In modern Russia, there are about 500,000 children who have the status of "left without parental care." About 15-18% are orphans, i.e. children whose parents died, were missing. But the remainder are children whose parents are alive, but do not exercise the function of their upbringing. The greatest danger in our country is the growth in the proportion of this category of children.
