The article is devoted to studying the experience of solving the problem of forming the professional competencies of students in the field of training "Organization of work with young people". The urgency of the work is conditioned by the problems of the formation of the personnel potential of the youth policy. The problem of the study lies in the contradiction between the professional competences described in the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education and the real requirements of the employer, concluded in the draft professional standard "Specialist for working with young people". The subject of the study is the professional competence of a specialist in working with young people.
