Abstract
The article is devoted to the history of becoming, modern realities and the future of e-sports. The article presents the milestones in the development of e-sports, the financial component, as well as the level of becoming an independent sport in various regions and countries of the world. Particular attention is paid to the cult games and tournaments, which had a huge impact on e-sports.
