PROBLEMATIC ASPECTS OF BANK SECRECY PROTECTION IN UKRAINE AND THEIR ADAPTATION TO EUROPEAN STANDARDS

The banks' obligation to preserve bank secrecy in the domestic legislation and legislation of European countries is researched. The following are the problematic aspects of bank secrecy protection in Ukraine grouped by sources of their own research. Regulated norms of legislation of European countries, which reveal the content of the concept of "banking secrecy." Examples of countries that respect the common European standards are given. The influence of the liquidation process of Ukrainian banks on bank secrecy protection is considered. The problematic aspects of domestic legislative controversies are grounded. The draft law on bank secrecy, which will ensure adoption of the appropriate level of protection of personal baths in accordance with the highest European and international standards, is considered.
