INVESTIGATION OF THE PROCESS OF SORPTION OF CHROMIUM(III) IONS ON CHITOSAN AND ITS MODIFIED SAMPLES

The results of study of Cr(III) ions sorption by chitosan and its modified samples are presented. The modification of chitosan with epichlorohydrin and ethylene glycol has been carried out. The equilibrium and kinetic characteristics of the modified samples were obtained. It was determined that the time for achieving the sorption equilibrium with the use of the modified sorbent does not change and takes 240 min, and the limiting sorption value (A∞) increases by 2 times in comparison with A∞ of initial sample.
