Abstract

The results of the study of nicknames in the German media space are presented in the article. The introducing model of the nickname is being studied based on the federal German print media corpus data containing onomastic components. Various functions of nicknames are identified, corresponding to different structural types and multidirectional stylistic connotations in newspaper texts.
