Abstract
The article considers the arrangement patterns of settlement sites corresponding to the Ananyino combed and corded ware culture (AKGShK) belonged to the Ananyino cultural and historical areal (AKIO) of the Viatka and Vetluga basins. It features the results of previous studies related to the structural aspect of the settlement of the AKIO representatives across the territory. Classification of AKGShK sites in the region was established with the use of mapping and mathematical techniques, and a total of 13 local and four regional groups of AKGShK settlements were identified in the basin of the Viatka river, as well as a single local and two regional groups of sites in the basin of the Vetluga river. An analysis of the geographical position and dimensions of the settlements allowed to identify the largest agglomerations of sites (Lower Viatka and Middle Viatka groups). An analysis of geographical conditions of the settlement arrangement pattern allowed to author to suggest the economic specialization of the Ananyino villages located in the basin of the Viatka river.
