Abstract

Aim of the research is to examine relations regarding maternal styles (authoritarian, permissive, authoritative) and variables in aggression, prosocial behavior and peer victimization levels of their children. A relational survey method was used in this study. 143 children attending the kindergartens of primary schools in the city center of Denizli, and their mothers, established the sample group for the study. The Parenting Styles and Dimensions Scale (Mother Form) and the The Child Behavior Scale and Peer Victimization Scale were used as data collection tools in the study. The Parenting Styles and Dimensions Scale (Mother Form) was individually completed by the mothers participating in the study. The Child Behavior Scale and Peer Victimization Scale were completed by the kindergarten teachers. According to results, a positive significant relation was between permissive and authoritative style of mothers and aggression and peer victimization levels of their children. On the other hand, a positive relation was determined on significant level between authoritative style of mothers and prosocial behavior levels of their children
