Abstract
Earthquakes are the major threat to high rise structures which damage or even collapse the structures. The damage starts from the point of irregularities in the structure. Irregularities are imparted to the structure for functional and architectural need. Hence discontinuities are caused in the structure which makes them weaker. In this paper, regular and irregular R.C.C structures are modelled and analyzed using response spectrum method in Etabs 2015. Different vertical irregularities considered are stiffness, mass and geometry. Results are compared and the effects due to different irregularities are identified and discussed.
