Abstract

The article reviews 44 copies of seven editions of the works of Chernihiv Аrchbishop Lazar Baranovych from the fond of V. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, which were published in Polish. Lazar Baranovych is one of the most prominent representatives of Ukrainian literature of Baroque period. The analyzed books are mostly collections of poems on different topics, as well as the anti-Catholic polemic treatises printed in Kyiv Pechersk Lavra's typography and in Lazar Baranovych's own typography in Novhorod-Siverskyi and Chernihiv. The editions' bibliographic descriptions given in the article include complete titles of the works, signatures, fingerprints and bibliography. Decorative design, pagination specifics, imperfections, bindings and provenances of the books are analyzed. Indicated is a wide distribution of Lazar Baranovych's works in the libraries of monasteries, educational institutions, famous secular and clerical people, which is proved by the presence of gift inscriptions and stamps of their former owners on the copies
