Abstract
The operation of gas distribution systems (GDS) is accompanied by a number of problems, one of which is the corrosive destruction of underground structures. The existing system of electrochemical protection (ECP) is characterized by high energy costs: losses of protective currents reach 90%. The authors developed a system for protecting underground communications of the gas distribution system, which makes it possible to eliminate losses of electric power to protective earths and to increase the efficiency of the entire ECP system on the gas distribution system.
