Abstract
During the years of Ukrainian independence there has been a development of bibliographic activity of academic libraries, which have a national status. Eighty-eight bibliographic works are published, scientists, writers and national culture characters have become the objects of biobibliographies. Biobibliographic works are becoming more creative, new biobibliographic monographs, exhibitions catalogs, reference books are being created. Biobibliographic research covering art experts, folklorists, musicologists and artists, as well as eminent bibliographers, librarians and bibliologists has been established.The Institute of Biographic Studies is founded in V. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, and the Center of Press Studies is created in V. Stefanyk Lviv National Scientific Library. In the latter conducted is bibliographic research dealing with publishing and educational activities in Western regions of Ukraine
