Contribution of the academic economist M. V. Ptukha to the development of demography and statistics in Ukraine. To the 130th anniversary of the academician

The article covers the life philosophy of the scientist, his contribution to the development of demography and statistics in Ukraine, the informational content of his scientific works and his collection of documents on the history of development and formation of demography and statistics. We have also given the results of his scientific researches and achievements which are the issues of marriage, mortality of Ukrainian population and that of 11 nationalities of European Russia, infant mortality by months of a year, perspective calculations of future population numbers and composition.
