Abstract
The article is devoted to the consideration of handwritten text in terms of its recognition. The definition of handwriting is highlighted. Some methods for recognizing handwritten text are considered, their merits and demerits are indicated. Based on the data analyzed, a new method of recognition based on contour analysis is proposed.
