Abstract
F, Ca and Sr which are also called internal remineralization elements are the most important components of modern glass ionomer cements. The purpose of the study is to examine the changes in the composition of dentin tooth crowns with fillings glass ionomer cements in vitro and to assess the effect of the dentin conditioning process on the ion exchange between the material (GIC) and the teeth' dentin. A microscopic study of the quality of adhesion of GIC to dentin was carried out using a Scanning Electron Microscope «Mira» by Tescan (Czech Republic)×20-1000, an investigation of the elemental composition of GIC, dentine, and the GIC-dentin boundary was carried out using an INCA 350 micro-X-ray spectrometer Firm «Oxford Instruments» (England). It was found out that conditioning of the dentin surface ensures the cleanliness of its surface, contributes to the partial opening of the dentinal tubules and the improvement of the «GIC-dentin» adhesion. In addition, dentine conditioning promotes an increase in ion-exchange processes, increases the percentage of trace elements Ca and F at the border «GIC-dentine». The weight ratio of Ca/P at the border of «GIC-dentin» increases after the application of the investigated GIC, the difference between the ratio of Ca/P in the dentin and the border «GIC-dentin» increases significantly after conditioning dentin, which can contribute to increasing caries resistance of tooth tissues.
