Intellectual biography - key model of the history of generations of historians Odessa.

The article proposed a model for the study of regularities of formation, development of scientific knowledge and paradigm shifts among historians of Odessa through the prism of the identity of their generations. Presents the meaning of the term generation and proposed a chronological periodization of generations of Odessa historians. On the background of socio-political changes of the first half of the ХХ century are identified and represented by a person of the Odessa historian N. Sokolov as a representative of "pozdneuniversitetskoy" generation of Imperial times.
