Abstract
Purpose of the article is analyze the conceptual bases that guided Ukrainian scientist, journalist, social and political activist, a representative of the interwar generation of Ukrainian immigration Eugene Onatskyi (1894-1979) in creating biographical essay "Portraits in Profile" (Chicago, 1965).
