Abstract
The frequency of micronuclei in exfoliated cells is widely used in molecular epidemiology and cytogenetics as a biomarker to evaluate the presence and extent of chromosomal damage in human populations exposed to genotoxic agents or having a susceptible genetic profile and genomic stability in human populations. This test in exfoliating boccalini cells is a useful and minimally invasive method for monitoring genetic damage in humans. Micronucleus test includes the study of cells to determine the prevalence of cells with micronuclei, Extremadura bodies, consisting of entire chromosomes or chromosomal fragments that were not included in the child core during mitosis, in addition, minimally invasive cell collection, low cost, easy storage and preparation of drugs make of micronucleus test of buccal epithelium is the perfect choice for molecular epidemiological studies.
