Abstract
In the article, a functional analysis of the analytic-synthetic components of the actor's work on the role is performed. An opinion is expressed that an analysis of the ideological essence of a work is an important aspect in teaching students in the class of stage speech and acting. The necessity of updating the curricula and modernizing the methodical aspect of the teaching of the acting disciplines is grounded. The role of the analysis of a work and a role in the process of word formation and the construction of an artistic image on the stage is examined. The main recommendations for the preparation of methods for teaching students to work on the role are developed.
