EFFECTIVENESS OF COMPUTERIZED ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION SYSTEM AND ITS IMPACT ON CRISIS MANAGEMENT

This research will determine effectiveness of computerized management information system and its impact in crisis management in Criminal Investigations Department within Murabba Police Station, Al Ain for measuring effectiveness of computer based management information systems related to; information accessibility, decision making process, user satisfaction, management levels adaptability, timely response to development, and information security. Sample of this study was 75employees selected randomly as 56% out of study population. Analytical descriptive approach was applied using a questionnaire as a study tool. Major findings illustrated that there's a statistical relationship between computer based management information systems and Criminal Investigations Department's ability of crisis management because 66.6% of department's ability to manage crisis interpreted by effectiveness of computer based management information system. Major recommendations of the study illustrated necessity of securing and storing information directly to safe places, moreover providing standby backup servers, and establishing effective disaster recovery systems.
