Abstract
The ways of development of state and public administration in educational institutions in view of the Law of Ukraine “On Education” have been considered, namely: society's engagement in the system of education, tools, procedures and measures for ensuring and improving the quality of education. The issues related to the practical implementation of the law's articles, and the requirements to scientists and officials regarding the creation of sufficient regulatory framework for the effective implementation of the state and public administration of an educational institution, setting boundaries of competences for government bodies and society during their liaison in the management process of an educational institution have been determined. The importance of developing scientifically balanced and substantiated criteria for assessing the activities of an educational institution has been emphasized.
