ACQUISITION OF JOURNALS IN ENGINEERING COLLEGES: WOES AND WORRIES OF LIBRARIANS

Paper deals with the issues and problems faced by the librarians while acquiring journals in engineering colleges in Karnataka. Important problems encountered such as lack of budget, untimely payment of subscription, non-receipt and late receipt of journals, refund of subscription, payment of excess foreign currency exchange rates, including problems arising out of accepting terms and conditions of the publishers as well as facing audit observations are covered in the research. Relevant suggestions are projected to overcome the problems in acquisition.
