Abstract
The article describes the main directions of the studies carried out in the field of using the psychological portrait of the criminal's personality, the current state of this institution is examined, and a variant of the theoretical basis of the psychological component of the psychological portrait of the perpetrator who committed mercenary crimes was proposed.
