Abstract
Family is a complex socio-cultural phenomenon. The specificity and uniqueness of it is that it focuses a virtually all aspects of human life and goes to all levels of social practice, from the individual to the social and historical, from the material to the spiritual. Family relations are of interest to study, because family is one of the fundamental institutions of society. In the cultural and historical development family has changed as a form of family relations and the actual content of these relations, particularly between husband and wife. Review the causes of certain forms of marriage is of interest to cultural-historical analysis. However, the crisis between processes and evolution presented in the scientific literature as the opposite, there is a close relationship and dependence, which are causing the current state of family and demographic and social spheres of the Ukrainian society.
Family plays an important role in the human reproduction and life support of basic needs of society in regulation of social relations, socialization of individuals, their moral and physical well-being, life fulfillment. Simultaneously family stands a small group − the most cohesive and stable social unit. During the lifetime a person is a member of many different groups - the group of peers or friends, school class, work team, sports team - but only family remains the group, which it never leaves. Family at present is undergoing radical changes in its functions and forms of family life. Incomplete and illegitimate family is becoming more common, age of marriage is the increasing, fertility is reduced, implementation of basic functions of family is transmitted to social institutions, a growing number of conflicts between family members take place through a different understanding of family values and different perceptions of the distribution of roles . All this suggests the need to study these issues to prevent conflict in marriage and family relations and to facilitate new pereod adapted to modern conditions of forms of family life.
