Abstract
The dependencies of PcBN Kiborit cutters wear described allows to propose the method of real relief worn flank surface area of cutter calculation when the total main and additional cutting edges length, flank wear height and average tilt angle of micron relief wear groove walls measured are determined. Based on the studies carried out, it has been established that the presence of a furrow-like profile on the back surface of the tool increases the actual contact area with the treated material by 30 % in comparison with the area of the nominal wear contour.
