Abstract
This article describes the fundamental concepts and theory of system design for Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA). The methodology for designing and simulation of DRA and result analysis of various parameters of the antenna such as return loss, gain, radiation patterns etc. are also explained. The article also discussed the basic algorithms and simulation steps for simulation of DRA using Ansoft High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) software. The method of characterization of the DR and the basic facilities used for the measurement of antenna parameters are also highlighted.
