Problems and Prospects of Investment Development in the Construction Materials Industries

The research attempts to determine the outcomes of investment activities, understand the logic and motives behind the investment process in construction materials industries, as well as to evaluate the impact of general economic and sectoral factors on the industries per se. The paper considers the most widely applied approaches to evaluating the results of investment development of the construction materials industries of Russia and presents the findings of the analysis of the investment activities' effect on performance indicators of the industries in 2005–2015. The author identifies principal conflicts emerging during investment and production activities of the companies in the sector, and looks at the possibilities to eliminate these tensions using the measures of the government investment policy. The research stresses the necessity to consistently build the system of state regulation of investment development of the national economy and increase company investments into innovative productions of construction materials industries.
