Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the most proper mixture ratio of common vetch and fodder pea with barley and oat for forage production under Çekerek ecological conditions (Yozgat-Turkey) during the 2012 and 2013 growing seasons. One cultivar from each species; fodder pea (Taşkent), common vetch (Seğmen), oat (Checota) and barley ( Karatay-94) were used as a plant material The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized block design with three replications. The plants were grown as a binary mixtures with diffrent seed ratio besides to alones The significant differences were deetrmined among cropping treatments in terms of hay yield, protein yield, ADF and NDF ratio. According to two years results mean hay yield, crude protein ratio, protein yield, ADF and NDF content were 330.2 kg/da, 58.7 kg/da, % 30.53 and % 52.09, respectively.Considering the hay and protein yield, 30 % oat : 70 % fodder peas and 40 % barley : 60 % fodder pea mixtures exhibited higher results, in our conditions.
