Abstract

This research was aimed to determine stoma density of Alphonse Lavelleé, Buca Razakısı, Red Globe, Trakya İlkeren, Yuvarlak Çekirdeksiz cultivars grafted onto 41B and 110R rootstocks. Investigation was carried out in Bornova, İzmir. The vineyard is located: 38o27'32" N and 27o13'21" S. In July, leaves on 6th node of shoots for each cultivar were collected to determine stoma density. Stoma numbers were counted from area of 0.066 mm2 by using 10x40 magnification of Olimpus BX50 microscope. Stomal density was found statistically significant between different rootstocks. The results obtained to number of stoma/mm2, stoma density changed between 67.2 and 188.89 stoma/mm2. 110R rootstocks have taken place at first group in stomatal density in Buca Razakısı and Red Globe grape cultivars. The lowest and highest stoma density was obtained from Red Globe grafted onto 41B cultivars with 67.2 stoma/mm2 and grafted onto 110R with 101.02 stoma/mm2 respectively. On the other hand stoma density was obtained from Buca Razakısı grafted onto 41B cultivar with 79.29 stoma/mm2 and grafted onto 110R with 110.11 stoma/mm2. It was observed that stoma densities were changed at statistically significant level in terms of rootstock.
