Abstract
The article shows the relevance of research of stress resistance in future specialists of socionomic professions. The article gives the emphasis to the lack of attention given to this issue by researchers, this leads to a gap in the training of socially-oriented professionals whose professional activity is one of the most psychologically stressful type of work. The article explains the context of the concept of professional stress resistance. It also describes the procedure of investigation with the use of self-diagnostic questionnaire of behaviour type in a stressful situation (Boyko V.V.); and the psychological stress scale PSM-25; and stress test of Boston. The article researches the features of stress resistance, mental stress, types of behaviour in stressful situations and its manifestation in first- and third year students. It was found, that the level of mental stress of the freshmen increases significantly during the academic year, and their level of stress resistance is statistically lower at the end of the academic year than it is in third-year students. The article validates empirically the connection between the type of behaviour in stressful situation and the level of mental stress and stress resistance of students: low level of stress resistance and high level of mental stress is inherent to students with behaviour type A. The students with behaviour type B show high level of stress resistance and low values in the scale of mental stress in comparison to students with A/B type of behaviour and A type of behaviour.
