Abstract
This study was carried out in between the years of 2010 and 2011 aimed to identify the effects of storage of the table grape varieties (“Yalova İncisi” and “Yalova Çekirdeksizi”) scions in different time (after 25, 50 and 75 days) and temperatures (0–2°C, 4–6°C, 8–10°C and 18–20°C) on the production material. During this study, the samples were collected from the “Trail Field of Table Grape Varieties Vineyard”. Parameters like; cane moisture, cane width, core, bark with phloem, xylem, cane width/core, bark with phloem/core, xylem/core of the production materials stored under different time and temperatures were examined. Moreover, the length and wet weight of shoot, number of knot, wet weight of root and the development level of peak callus were also noted at one–bud cutting. At the end of this research, it was determined that the internal structure of scion has been showed variation into from the first taken time when stored at different time and temperature levels. The best lignification has been obtained in the preserved scions between the 75th to 50th days of time while the preserved production materials lignified in a best way when stored in order of 4–6°C, 0–2°C and 8–10°C temperature levels. This placement was also observed into the shoot and root weight values taken from one–bud cuttings. The worst lignification and shoot–root weight values took place at scions stored at 18–20°C in consequence of shoot formation observed in PVC bag and the consumption of extra nutrient substances. According to the final results, it was observed that the internal structure of scions were not completed which were collected during the pruning period (end of February–beginning of March), so grafting must not be applied just after the winter pruning. For this reason it was suggested that the grafting should be started just after keeping in the cold storage for a minimum of 25 days at 4–6°C degree of temperature, will be considered more useful.
